Open to Ages: 13-18 (13-15 must have parent/guardian consent)

Songhees Nation is still looking for one bright energetic individual to fill the positions of Youth Treaty Ambassador. Are you curious about the treaty process? Enthusiastic and willing to learn? Then the role of Treaty Youth Ambassador will be a great summer opportunity for you! The posting will run for three weeks.

The TTA Treaty Youth Ambassador is an initiative that is focused on integrating the youth into the treaty process. Treaty Youth Ambassadors will job shadow, assist and support the local treaty efforts under the supervision of the Treaty Office Clerks, Negotiators, and head office staff.

Scope of Responsibilities

  • Assist and support Treaty Office Clerk
  • Job shadowing the Treaty Office Clerk and Negotiators
  • Attend meetings with other staff and managers
  • Be fully emerged in the treaty process
  • Engage with the youth of the Community
  • Assist in organizing a youth workshop
  • Create and organize a presentation for the youth of the Nation

Job Requirements

  • Aged between 13-18 returning to school in September
  • Student - Songhees Nation member will be given preference
  • Eager to learn
